Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training offers a bespoke and supportive training package which aims to meet the needs of each individual through weekly tutorials with your YWTT phase or subject lead in addition to your weekly meeting with your school-based mentor.
The thoughtfully sequenced curriculum allows trainees to develop their knowledge and skills through a blend of professional studies and subject specific sessions taught at YWTT, complemented by a carefully integrated school based training programme. 100% of our 23/24 cohort would recommend YWTT to others.
The professional studies programme is delivered by teaching experts some of whom work for national education organisations including the EEF, Maths and English Hubs.
You will work closely with your YWTT tutor, an excellent primary teacher who will support your development throughout the course. They will meet with you weekly to gain a deep understanding of your specific needs and progress, allowing them to design and deliver bespoke intensive training placements in their school.
School placements are carefully structured to ensure the gradual development of your teaching across both primary key stages. Spending Monday to Thursday in school allows you to continually apply and refine your developing knowledge and skills. Your mentor in each placement school will support you daily, giving you regular formative feedback through observation and weekly mentor meetings. They also work closely with your tutor to design and deliver the school based training programme.
A team of primary subject experts will ensure you have the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver all aspects of the primary curriculum. 100% of our 23/24 cohort strongly agreed that they had been effectively trained by YWTT.
In order to be eligible for the programme you would need to hold the following qualifications:
At least a Grade C/Level 4 in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
For Primary you would also require at least a Grade C/Level 4 in GCSE Science or equivalent.
A Degree at a 2:2 or above, preferably in the subject you wish to apply for.

If you need a visa, filter your course search to find courses with visa sponsorship.
Alternatively, check if you’re eligible for a different type of visa, such as a Graduate or Family visa, that allows you to train to be a teacher without being sponsored.
