This training programme provides a hands-on learning experience, allowing you to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 while being supported by experienced educators and subject specialists. School Placements
Throughout the course, you will gain hands-on classroom experience in two contrasting secondary settings:
You will be in school from Tuesday to Friday, learning directly from experienced teachers and refining your practice in a supportive environment. This consistent classroom exposure ensures that you develop both confidence and competence as a teacher.

Before you start the course, you will need to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) security check.
Tuition Fee loans and maintenance loans are also available. You could also receive additional funding support if you’re a parent or have a disability.
As an unsalaried trainee, you would be required to cover your student fees.

Our unique programme maximises the time spent in school and access to tutors with up to date professional practice and expertise drawn from their work in schools. We have an excellent track record of supporting trainees in completing the programme for QTS and gaining employment as a Newly Qualified Teacher
When you apply on the Department for Education (DfE) website, your application will go through an initial screening process. If your application makes it through the initial screen, you will be formally invited to an interview in one of our School Direct partner schools.

If you do not already have the right to work in the UK, you may need to apply for a visa. The main visa for salaried courses is the Skilled Worker visa.
To apply for a Skilled Worker visa you need to be sponsored by your employer.
Sponsorship is not available for this course.

Alternatively, check if you’re eligible for a different type of visa, such as a Graduate or Family visa, that allows you to train to be a teacher without being sponsored.

If your qualifications come from a non-UK institution, we may want to see a ‘statement of comparability’ from UK ENIC. This will show us how they compare to UK qualifications.
